Today, on The Shabby, we are so excited to introduce you to Barri Sue Gaudet of Bareroots Designs! Shabby Fabrics recently started carrying some of Barri's awesome kits and once we got our hands on them we new we had to share them with you!
First, let's get to know Barri!
When speaking about how Bareroots came to be she told a story that may seem very familiar to many "at-home" shop owners. She said, "I remember calling a phone number on the back of a pattern and heard birds in the background. The pattern designer on the phone said she was going to leave that room and go to another to hear me better. I asked, 'Are you at home?' She said, 'Yes'. Then it dawned on me, I could do this too." Bareroots grew from there and Barri began selling items and local craft shows and home boutiques!
Outside of creating patterns, Barri likes to knit, kayak, camp, and hike - she even reached the summit Mt. Whitney last Summer! It is very easy to see why nature so beautifully influences her work!
We are so proud to be carrying kits from Barri and Bareroots designs at Shabby Fabrics- now here is a closer look:
First up, are these adorable table runners which feature chalkcloth that you can actually write on! We have all had so much fun writing on these and playing with the designs! We have these both available as kits which include the pattern, wool felt, embroidery floss, and chalkcloth.
We also have the Needle, Thread and Bits Kit available. This project includes a bag with a vinyl window front, a needle and floss roll, and pincushion atop a cute wooden spool. The kit from Shabby Fabrics includes the pattern, linen, ticking, wool felt, embroidery floss, vinyl, and wooden spool!
We hope you have enjoyed getting to know Barri and taking a closer look at her designs. Feel free to check out Bareroots on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest and don't forget to head over to Shabby Fabrics to get your hands on these awesome kits!
